The Industry

4th Street Bridge co-founder Mitchell Colley consulted for The Industry, an independent, artist-driven company creating experimental productions that expand the definition of opera. Mitchell managed social media channels, supported fundraising efforts, and executed key production efforts for the company.

As the social media lead for Invisible Cities, an opera experienced through wireless headphones in LA's iconic Union Station, Mitchell grew online communities over 500% and helped to lead a crowd-sourced fundraising campaign which exceeded its $25,000 goal. Mitchell also played a key role in producing The Industry's development events, which supported donor relations and additional fundraising efforts.

Invisible Cities was an incredible artistic success and sold out every performance. The Industry went on to be nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for the composition of Invisible Cities, and was the subject of an Emmy award-winning documentary.

Hopscotch, The Industry's next project, presented opera through a mobile experience, utilizing twenty four cars, three routes, and the city as a backdrop. Mitchell worked with The Industry to manage key logistics of the audience experience at the opera's twelve departure points throughout central and east Los Angeles.
